The 2x BD + (thankfully standard) hdd pre-cacheing gives developers more than enough to obliterate any load times, let alone installs.
The 2x BD (with a constant read speed) performs just as well with the DVD9 (which IS 8x btw for DVD9s; and 12x for SL DVDs) with its max/min read speeds.
